As students head back to school, the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) wants to remind everyone that students in transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade can ride the entire SacRT transit network, including SacRT buses, light rail, and SmaRT Ride on-demand microtransit service, for FREE! 

How to ride: 

• All school districts have been provided with RydeFreeRT cards for students in grades TK-12th.
• New cards have a valid date from June 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
• Youth who are experiencing homelessness or taking part in foster programs are eligible. 
• For students and youth who need a RydeFreeRT card, visit SacRT’s Customer Service and Sales Center located at 1225 R Street (adjacent to the 13th Street light rail station) or Sacramento Public Libraries.
