The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy (Common Core State Standards Initiative).
John F. Kennedy High School’s Learning Academy Programs are designed to create a unique experience for our students. With exciting and rigorous curriculum, students enrolled in one of our Learning Academies will be better prepared to pursue 4 year universities, specific careers, and/or vocations aligned to each program. Students participate in a variety of field trips and competitions to engage in the curriculum, as well.

After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens, or ASSETs, is a program that offers extra class opportunities for students to earn elective credits in a welcoming environment. We also have tutors on-site daily to help with homework as well as clubs that meet for fun and friendship. The program is free and open to all current Kennedy students. We also serve a free snack to students each day.
