CJA – Criminal Justice Academy Program

This magnet academy includes all basic high school course requirements plus specialized training in the field of law enforcement. Students will study the basic course materials used by those in training to be police cadets. Additionally, the curriculum covers investigative procedures, forensic science, physical training and principles of the law. The JFK CJA Program is offered through a partnership with the Sacramento Police Department. Students will be provided opportunities to explore the broad range of careers within the field of criminal justice during their enrollment in the program.

MaD – Manufacturing and Design

MaD offers many diverse opportunities for students interested in product design and development processes, the principles of design, computer aided design, fabrication and manufacturing process, sustainability, and the principles of business and entrepreneurship. This rigorous sequence of courses and classroom experiences infused with cross curricular problem-based projects and practical applications encourage outcome-based learning and celebrate all students’ achievements.

Program in Advanced Curricular Exploration – AP Capstone

Overview

PACE – AP Capstone offers students a four-year advanced academic program. The goal is to ensure that all PACE-AP Capstone graduates are prepared to attend and succeed at competitive four-year colleges and universities. Unique to JFK High School, is the inclusion of the AP Capstone program.  JFK is the only high school in Sacramento City USD approved to offer this unique diploma program. Each PACE student takes a rigorous college-prep curriculum, including uniquely designed English and History courses in grade 9 and guaranteed access to AP courses in their interdisciplinary area of interest.
