JFK Campus Updates

Post

Dear Kennedy Families,

This morning we informed you that we were aware of a nationwide social media trend spreading regarding non-credible threats to schools and the potential harm and trauma our campus community may be experiencing.

This is why I must express my profound disappointment about an incident that happened during lunch today. Despite knowing the heightened fear their classmates may have, a group of students in the cafeteria chose to stomp on milk cartons and pop them simultaneously in an effort to mimic the sound of gunshots. This senseless and ill-timed prank caused a large number of students to flee in fear, including some who left campus altogether. We believe that all students have since safely returned and school is operating on a regular schedule.

We are reviewing cameras now and will refer any student involved for immediate and appropriate disciplinary action. If your student has more information about this incident, please let a school administrator know, or have them submit an anonymous WeTip by:

Calling: 844.916.4544
Texting: Report to 844.916.4544

We are very concerned for our students who experienced this event, and will connect them with Student Support Services for assistance.

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know,

Reginald Brown, Principal
