Early tomorrow afternoon, a few minutes before 2 p.m., I will direct school staff to conduct what is known as a “lockdown” drill. Please be assured that this is only a drill, and there is no actual threat to the school. As is typical, those in the surrounding neighborhood may hear the alarm, which may run for up to 15 minutes.

Law enforcement has been notified, and I have requested that they assist in evaluating the school’s response.

Holidays

With the holiday season in full swing, students often find it more difficult to stay focused on academics. Now, though, is also a time when there is a need for dependable instruction and a minimum of undue disruptions at school. Thus, the staff and I will do our part by keeping “holiday celebrations” to a minimum. Although a time and place at school to celebrate is not out of the question, the strength of the academic program is built on consistent high quality instruction.
