Cougar Parent Committee (CPC)

The first CPC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2 at 6 p.m. in the little theater.

The Cougar Parent Committee is a group of parents dedicated to all matters pertaining to Kennedy. Loosely designed around the PTA concept, CPC meetings present an excellent opportunity to receive information, ask questions, and interact directly with the administrators.

Hope to see you there!

Tutoring

Tutoring schedules for Math and Science are now available. Please note that students in need of tutoring may see any teacher who is listed during the times noted.

I will share other Department schedules as they are released.

Remember that the English department’s Literacy Lab provides assistance with writing regardless of content area. The Literacy Lab runs Monday-Wednesday from 3:20 to 4:30 p.m. in C-302.

Health & Wellness Policy

In an effort to promote healthy choices, the District has recently adopted a new school Wellness Policy. Be aware that the particulars of the plan may impact certain traditional classroom and fundraising activities. Should you have any questions regarding the Wellness Policy, please contact me. Additional information is available here.

Athletics Hall of Fame

The Athletics department will induct the inaugural “class” into the Kennedy Hall of Fame this coming spring. If you know of a worthy candidate, please nominate!

LCFF Surveys

Last week, your student should have received a copy of the District’s annual parent and student rights handbook. A parent survey was included. Known as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) data collection survey, the results, when reported to the State, directly affect District and site funding allocations. Your data is essential to ensure Kennedy receives what is due.

Please complete this survey, and return it to the school by October 31. Your help is much appreciated!

PSAT

The PSAT is fast approaching! All ninth and tenth graders will participate in the PSAT on October 10 during periods one through four. Students will receive practice materials on September 24 from their English teacher. Please follow the embedded links for more information about the PSAT.

Should you have questions, please contact Assistant Principal Buitrago @ Vanessa-Buitrago@scusd.edu.
