November 10, 2016
As I am sure you’ve heard, the school will be closed tomorrow in honor of Veteran’s Day. Here is wishing a safe and restful long weekend!
Visitation (Open House) Days
A quick reminder that there is an “open house” on Monday, November 14 (6:00 p.m.) and a second visitation day scheduled for Thursday, November 17 @ 8:30 a.m. Designed primarily as a recruitment tool for the school’s pathways (Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, MaD, MJROTC, and PACE), teacher leads and administrators will be on hand to answer questions and showcase opportunities.
If you know of somebody who may be interested in learning more about Kennedy and its programs, please share the above information. Questions with regard to visitation and open house may be directed to me.
It has come to my attention that there are some student athletes who have not received varsity letters in recognition of their athletic contributions at Kennedy. If you believe that your student should have received a letter but did not (regardless of the year of participation), please contact Matt Costa, Athletic Director, @ Matthew-Costa@scusd.edu.
As a reminder, in order to qualify for a letter, participation in a recognized (varsity) sport for at least one full season is required.
The ladies’ volleyball team has wrapped up a successful year by winning yet another Metro League title. They played Pleasant Grove in the first round and lost a close game. Congratulations, lady cougars!
The varsity football team plays Folsom (@ Folsom) on Friday; kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. Please come out and support your cougars!
As announced last week, tryouts for all winter athletic programs are in progress. Please contact the appropriate head coach for more specific information. On the school’s website, www.jfk.scusd.edu, there is contact information under the header of “athletics.”
