Smarter Balanced Assessment
A reminder that eleventh graders have begun State of California-mandated proficiency testing. Commonly abbreviated as “SBAC” (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium), these exams assess eleventh grade mastery of both English-Language Arts and Math. The second session will begin April 30 and end May 1.
This test not only impacts the school, it is commonly used by colleges and universities to determine placement and eligibility. Please help us help us by reminding your student to take the exam seriously. Extra attention to a good night’s rest beforehand and a nutritious breakfast the day of the test won’t hurt either!
For additional information about SBAC, please contact Assistant Principal Buitrago @ Vanessa-Buitrago@scusd.edu.
