Robotics

Congratulations, Kennedy Robotics on their solid showing at the first competition of the 2019 season. The team brought home several awards including one for safety and a second for control systems, an evaluation of the team’s ability to design and program a system that meets the challenges of the competition.

This year, the World Championship was missed by a single match, but the team will be hard at work again at the Sacramento Regional in Davis two weeks from now.

Spring Concert

Last night’s concert was, as usual, fantastic! Many compliments to Mr. Hammond, Mr. Stroh, and our very talented student musicians. As announced earlier, donations will benefit music programs affected by the Camp Fire. In case you missed the segment aired on CBS earlier this week, please take a look!

California Science Test (CAST)

The California Science Test (CAST) is an online assessment based on California’s new Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The test falls under the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and takes approximately two hours to complete. We will administer the CAST to all seniors April 1-3 and 5. Students will be notified of their assigned test day by their respective English teacher.

More information about the CAST can be found here.

If you have questions, please contact Assistant Principal Buitrago at Vanessa-Buitrago@scusd.edu.

Walk-Outs

In case you did not receive it via Infinite Campus, last night’s letter regarding the school’s position on walk-outs is available here. If, for any reason, you have questions, please contact me.

Spirit Week

Next week is spirit week, and a rally is scheduled for Friday. Details regarding spirit week are available on the school’s website. Please remind your student that spirit week or not, school dress code still applies.
