Finals Week

First semester finals will take place next week on January 21-23. Beginning Friday, January 17, school will be dismissed at 12:27 p.m. For details, the 2019-20 academic calendar is available here.

Please encourage your student to work hard and finish strong!

Second Semester Schedules

We encourage students to check their schedule using Infinite Campus before January 27 in the event that changes have been made. Counselors are available at lunch and after school to address questions about second semester schedules. 

Cocoa & Cram

Link Crew will host its annual Cocoa & Cram for all ninth graders this Thursday, January 16 from 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m. in the cafeteria. This event provides students with an important opportunity to receive extra academic assistance as well as learn good study habits (and free cocoa).

Please join me in welcoming three new members to the Cougar Nation: Robyn Mutchler who has filled an office technician opening,  Jeff Nash who has filled a campus monitor opening and Chelsea Weldon who has graciously accepted an interim position as cheerleading coach.

Steps to College 2020

Steps to College is a free college workshop, to be held at the Mexican consulate on Saturday, February 1, open to all students. In addition to English-Spanish translators, information will be provided regarding financial aid and college admission. Please click here for registration details. In order to attend, you must register in advance.

Senior Grad Night 2020

It’s not too late! Senior Grad Night tickets are stillavailable. Your student may purchase one by coming to the quad stage at lunch on the following dates. Tickets are $60.

  • February 12
  • March 11
  • April 1


To ensure that every student is able to fulfill college and university eligibility requirements, all juniors will take the SAT on Wednesday, March 4 during periods one through four. The entire cost is being funded by the District; families are not responsible for any portion.

As the time grows nearer, more information will follow.

In November 2012, Sacramento voters approved Measures Q and R, propositions written with the intent to upgrade school facilities to ensure that students receive access to learning environments that are modern and safe. Also known as the “Core Academic Renovation,” there are a variety of modernization projects occurring across the District.

The first phase of this construction project has begun and will last for the better part of the school year. As a result, the front of the school will be inaccessible during the next several months. Front office access will be available via the M-Wing gate on the west side (student parking lot).

A campus map showing the impacted areas as well as paths of travel is available here. Please remember to allow extra time for drop off and pick up as the construction will likely impact traffic for the foreseeable future.
