A quick reminder with regard to tonight’s “College Talk.”
Current eleventh graders and families are invited to an annual post-secondary/college discussion with school counselors. This event will help prepare students and families for post-high school educational plans and include a presentation with a question and answer session. This event will include information about community college, University of California, State University and private college/university admissions, financial aid and timelines.
Please join us at 6:30 p.m. in the John F. Kennedy auditorium!
Infinite Campus (Student Accounts)
As part of a student data security improvement, students are now required to login to Infinite Campus using their District Google account. The school has received quite a few inquiries with regard to this new process. Please click here for full details.
Statement Regarding Media Coverage
I know that many of you have seen the recent media coverage regarding the rat that a substitute teacher saw inside a classroom on the Monday after Spring Break. After a thorough review, I am confident that school staff acted quickly, appropriately, and with the utmost concern for student safety.
As soon as the report was received, the Plant Manager was notified, and he responded within minutes. At the time the report was made, the classroom was empty. The space was secured, future classes were relocated, a trap was set, and District Maintenance and Operations was informed. The rat was later caught, desks, surfaces, and carpets were cleaned and sanitized. Students were returned to the room the following morning after I received assurances that the matter had been fully resolved.
Health and safety of the students is always the top priority. Should you have any questions and/or concerns about this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at (916) 395-5090.
