Beginning in August this year, John F. Kennedy High School has a new athletic trainer to provide care for all student athletes. Laura Jassowski is a Certified Athletic trainer in good standing with NATA/BOC. She received her Bachelor’s of Science at Sonoma State University and her Master’s of Science at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. She is also CPR/AED Certified for the healthcare professional, Functional Movement Systems Level 1, and Corrective Exercise Specialist Certified.
She started working in the athletic training room at Sonoma State University, then continued her education at Plymouth State University where she worked with PSU’s men’s basketball, women’s soccer, and women’s lacrosse team. She then worked at the New Hampton High School athletic training room for the next year and covered all sports including football, men and women’s hockey, lacrosse, field hockey, equestrian, and mountain biking among others. During the summer of 2015, she worked at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose working with the summer camps, football tackling camp, and the summer sports practices.
After she graduated from Plymouth State Laura moved back to California and spent the last year working as the Head Athletic Trainer for Elk Grove High school. On The side she has done per diem for Rugby tournaments and competitions for NorCal Rugby.
She is now the Head Athletic Trainer for us at Kennedy High School. She is in the athletic training room by the gym and men’s locker room.
