VAPA

JFK Visual & Performing Arts (VAPA) boasts a wide selection of elective courses. Students interested in learning about the Arts and how they can involve themselves in future careers for the Arts, colleges and community opportunities in the Art world will have lots of options. From drawing, painting, sculpting, ceramics, pottery, digital photography and visual design to singing, acting, film studies, jazz music, choir, orchestra, guitar, piano and marching band! Students can continue to grow their experiences of past learning into advanced levels or enroll into a class to start learning the basics and explore a medium they are curious about. The VAPA Department has grown in recent years, hiring new VAPA Credentialled Teachers and expanding the courses provided. The VAPA team all have strong connections to local events and community spaces and work closely with local businesses to get students involved with experiences out of the classroom. Giving Art students as much exposure to various Art experiences is the goal while fostering curiosity and feeding the ability to think critically is the plan!
