Special Education

The Special Education Department at John F. Kennedy High School offers an exceptional range of programs across the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) spectrum. These programs include the Resource Specialist Program (RSP)--which includes study skills and resource supported ELA and math classes– and Special Day Classes (SDC) for the following areas: Learning Disabilities (LD), Language Enrichment (LE), Emotional Disturbance (ED), Autism, and Intellectual Disabilities (ID), all of which are designed to meet the diverse needs of all students. We also provide substantial support services, including guidance and counseling, speech therapy, occupational therapy, vocational support (including CBI), postsecondary transition planning support, and transportation to ensure our learners receive the highest level of care and assistance.
