AP Capstone

AP Capstone at JFK is a unique opportunity to earn one of the College Board's highest distinctions: The AP Capstone Diplomas. We are the only school that offers it. AP Capstone is a series of two AP classes: AP Seminar and AP Research. You take AP Seminar as a 10th grader in place of English 10 and AP Research as a junior, in addition to your 11th grade English class. The AP Capstone diploma is what you earn when you pass those two AP exams as well as any 4 additional AP classes. It is a distinction that can help you stand out to colleges above and beyond the usual AP class load. You can commit to it as a 9th grader, but the classes do not start until 10th grade. All of our AP classes, except for Seminar and Research, are available to all Kennedy students without committing to the Capstone option. We currently offer 17 subject-area AP classes.
