Google Apps for Education

This year, the District is providing students with access to a digital resource known as Google Apps for Education. Google Apps allows students to create and store documents, study, and collaborate anywhere there is an Internet connection. Please read more about this important resource here.

To Families of the Class of 2017

“Last chance” senior portraits will occur at school on Tuesday, November 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Any senior who has not had a portrait taken by Studio Monet will receive an appointment notice during the prior week.

The senior class group photo will happen in the quad during third period on November 2. Seniors are encouraged to wear school colors.

College Night

The Kennedy Counseling department will host College Night on Thursday, October 13 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium. All families and students are invited to attend. Presenters will include Sacramento City College, the University of California, Davis, Sacramento State University, and the University of the Pacific (UOP).

College Night is an excellent opportunity to learn more about college admissions, financial aid options, and campus life.

PSAT

All tenth grade students will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 19. The test will be coordinated via English classes. There are a limited number of seats available for eleventh graders too.

Grad. Night Ticket Sales

“Early bird” tickets for the 2017 Grad. Night will be on sale during lunch on October 5. The cost is $35 but will increase as the date gets closer.

Back to School Night

As promised, additional information follows with regard to Back to School Night (B2SN):

I look forward to seeing you at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, at Back to School Night.

Here is your homework: please retrieve your child’s schedule via Infinite Campus or have him or her write it down for you. When you arrive, you will receive a program and a campus map. You will then visit classrooms and meet teachers.

Yearbook

If you have not already done so, now is the time to order a copy of the 2017 yearbook! The special summer price ($70) has been extended but will end Friday, September 16.

Purchase a yearbook from Mrs. Hanzlik (F-2) during lunch on Friday. Payment plans are available, and now is the time to lock in our best offer with a deposit of $25.

Please see the revised (slightly) bell schedule here. Dismissal will occur one minute earlier than announced previously.

Registration

Complete information pertaining to registration and orientation is now available here (along with a variety of other important bits). New this year, the emergency card is computer fill-in and may be submitted via the website (directions are located at the bottom of the emergency card).
