Google Apps for Education
This year, the District is providing students with access to a digital resource known as Google Apps for Education. Google Apps allows students to create and store documents, study, and collaborate anywhere there is an Internet connection. Please read more about this important resource here.
The Kennedy Clarion
The first issue of the Clarion is (literally) on the newsstands! As always, I am super impressed. The writing is excellent, the layout is spot-on, the stories are informative and relevant. Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Hanzlik for their time, energy, and dedication. All features are available via the Clarion’s website here.
Tomorrow (Friday) is the first food fair of the school year. All proceeds go to Kennedy clubs and programs. Please encourage your student(s) to come out to support the effort. Most items are very reasonably priced.
A special shout-out to Coach Perkins and the water polo team. At last weekend’s tournament, the team defeated McClatchy, lost one, and continued on undefeated for three games (15-8, 14-7, and 12-6).
Cougar football (5-2) plays Laguna on Friday at Consumnes River College (CRC). A win will create a playoff spot for the second year in a row. Girls’ volleyball won the metro league beating out C.K. McClatchy. Girls’ golf plays in a tournament on Monday in Napa.
The class of 2017 is sponsoring a “shredding day” at Kennedy on Saturday, November 19 starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m. There is a fee of $3 per grocery bag and/or $5 per box. This is an excellent opportunity to clean out and protect against identity theft while supporting the Kennedy class of 2017.
Paper and hard drives are acceptable; all donations will be securely destroyed by RID – Rapid Information Destruction.
Kennedy 50-year Committee
A committee has been created to plan festivities in celebration of the upcoming 50-year anniversary of the school’s opening (September 1967). If you are interested in serving, please contact Brandon Yung, Assistant Principal, @ Brandon-Yung@scusd.edu.
In addition, we are on the search for pictures and memorabilia to chronicle the school’s history. Should you have or know somebody who has items that can be donated, copied, and/or lent, please contact Mr. Yung or me.
