Senior Portraits (Studio Monet)
Senior Portraits will be taken by Studio Monet on campus during the morning of November 15. Seniors who have not had their portrait taken for the yearbook will be photographed. Students will be notified and receive a personal appointment notice during the prior week. Because of the high number of students who need to be photographed, these sessions are for “yearbook only” (an effort to ensure that all seniors are photographed before the yearbook publishing deadline). Students who want a full service session, with a variety of optional poses, may make appointments with Studio Monet and travel to their studio.
Please contact Mary Lou Hanzlik, Yearbook Advisor, at Marylou-Hanzlik@scusd.edu for more information.
Cougar Parent Committee
Please join me in the little theater on Tuesday, November 8 @ 6:00 p.m. for the Cougar Parent Committee (CPC). Organized by a group of Kennedy families and similar in function to PTSA, the CPC is a forum for parents, guardians, staff, community members, and other interested folks to learn more about the school and its programs, plan, ask questions, and more. I encourage you to attend. Should you have questions with regard to this opportunity, please contact me.
Manufacturing & Design (MaD)
Congratulations to Robert Greene, dedicated students and families on the recognition received in the most recent issue of Inside Pocket. The MaD program has quickly become one of the school’s signature programs attracting students and families from across the District. The article appears here (pages 12-13).
The School Site Council (SSC) is a group of teachers, staff, parents, and students who work with the school’s administration to develop and evaluate school programs and specific budgets. Site Council guides creation of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and typically requires a time commitment of approximately two to three after-school hours per month. There are still a few seats available on the Site Council. If you would be interested in serving, please contact me.
Reminder: End of Quarter (Minimum Day)
Tomorrow, November 4, is the last day of the first quarter and is a scheduled minimum day. Students will be dismissed at 12:26 p.m. The after-school program (ASSETs) will dismiss at 1:37 p.m.
Winter sports begin officially on November 7. This includes men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, and wrestling. For more information with regard to tryout dates and times, please contact Matt Costa, Athletic Director, at Matthew-Costa@scusd.edu.
