This scholarship was created by Barbara Arnold, MD to support Kennedy graduates seeking to improve their community through education and a life of dedicated service.
Asian Culture Scholarship
The Asian Culture Scholarship honors a graduating senior at John F. Kennedy High School. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement, citizenship, and involvement in the Asian Community.
Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship
DEADLINE: May 19, 2017
Formed in 1999, the Gene Haas Foundation supports a variety of programs, particularly in the technical and engineering fields at schools, colleges and universities worldwide. This scholarship is for students attending a college or university with a degree in engineering, manufacturing or other highly technical career.
Intel PC Pal Scholarship
To be considered for this scholarship you must be a graduating senior enrolled in a two or four-year college.
Jan and Joe Matisco Student Athlete Scholarship
Jan Matisco worked at JFK from 1972 until she retired in June of 2009. During these four decades, she and her husband, Joe Matisco, touched the lives of many students at Kennedy. They spent countless hours dedicating their time to Kennedy and our athletes.
Janice Wong Memorial Scholarship
The Janice Wong Memorial Scholarship honors a graduating senior at John F. Kennedy High School. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of outstanding academic achievement in Calculus BC and participation in student activities and/or on-campus clubs.
John F. Kennedy Memorial Scholarship
The John F. Kennedy Memorial Scholarship honors a graduating senior at John F. Kennedy High School. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of outstanding academic achievement, citizenship, best all around, and demonstrates a financial need.
John T. Braxton Memorial Scholarship
The John T. Braxton Memorial Scholarship honors a graduating senior at John F. Kennedy High School. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement, citizenship, and student activities such as athletic and clubs.
Kevin H. Imura Student Athlete Scholarship
Family and friends have come together to memorialize Kevin by contributing to the Kevin H. Imura Scholarship Fund. Each year, a graduating Kennedy senior who has exhibited dedication to their academics, citizenship, and athletics will be awarded a scholarship in Kevin’s name. This scholarship will be given to a senior who had recently passed a Kennedy course in Auto Shop.
Yuk Chun Yu Scholarship
The Yuk Chun Yu Award offers a non-renewable $250 scholarships to students at JFK with financial need who have strong language skills in Mandarin and who have used his or her language skills to help the Pocket-Greenhaven community. Past examples of service include tutoring students in Mandarin after school, volunteering at local nursing homes, and assisting with seminars for the California Language Teachers’ Association (CLTA).
