High School Specialty Program Application

The District’s new “one application” procedure for admittance to high school specialty programs is now live. If you know a family who may be interested in one of Kennedy’s unique program offerings, information is available here.

Winter Concert

The string orchestra, jazz ensemble, concert choir, and concert band would like to welcome you to their annual Winter Concert. The event will be held in the auditorium on Thursday, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. Please come out and support the outstanding Kennedy musicians! Admission is free.

Athletics

Congratulations to the girls’ wrestling team for a fantastic showing this past weekend at the Casa Roble Girls’ Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Sophomore Jazmine Koehler took first place in her division, Anna Fukuhara (‘19) took second, and Antonia Hart (‘19) third. Well done, lady wrestlers!

The football team will hold its annual awards banquet this coming Thursday, December 6, at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

A football meeting with regard to off-season conditioning will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 2:30 p.m. Please plan to attend!

The boys’ basketball team is at Antelope this weekend for a tournament. Go, Cougars!

If your student is interested in a sport and have yet to submit proof of a physical exam, please do so as soon as possible. For more information, please contact Matt Costa, Athletic Director, at
Matthew-Costa@scusd.edu.

Toy Drive

A reminder that from now until December 23, the school is accepting new and gently used unwrapped toys. Part of an annual Kennedy tradition, donations are accepted in the Counseling Center and front office (lobby).

On Friday the 23rd, toys will be donated to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children for distribution on Christmas morning to children who are currently hospitalized.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

A friendly reminder to please exercise caution when picking up, dropping off, and/or visiting the school. In recent weeks, a number of concerns have been received with regard to driving behavior and safety.

A word of caution: an illegal U-turn on Gloria Drive (in front of the school) can result in a ticket costing upward of $375. Don’t make that mistake!
