Winter Recess

The faculty, staff and I wish you a happy, restful winter break. As a reminder, tomorrow (Friday) is a full day; contrary to rumor, school does not release early.

School will resume on Monday, January 9.

Monday, January 16 is a school holiday in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

During extended periods of vacation, schools sometimes become targets for vandals. If you see anything at or around the school that raises your suspicion, please take the time to report it. Vandalism is expensive and disruptive.

The Sacramento Police Department non-emergency number is (916) 264-5471.

Winter Concert

Tonight is the annual winter concert! Please come out and support our fabulous Kennedy musicians! This is always a fantastic show. Things kick off at 7:00 in the Kennedy auditorium. Admission is free, but seats can fill quickly, so plan to arrive early.

The Clarion

Let’s hear it for students of the Clarion who were recently invited to the SheShares media panel event. No other high school or college students received an invitation! Further information about the SheShares organization can be found here.

Valentina Duong (‘17) spoke up and asked panelists a question about how young journalists can change the current state of affairs in the media climate. Way to go, Valentina!

On December 13, the Clarion team toured the Sacramento Bee operation – pictures are posted on our website & Facebook page.Check ‘em out!

Baseball Fundraiser

Check out the baseball team’s Chipolte fundraiser here! 50% of proceeds will benefit the team on January 17, but don’t forget the attached flyer!

Toy Drive

Here’s one last push for the JFK toy drive! Tomorrow, toys will be donated to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children for distribution on Christmas morning.

Toys are accepted in the Counseling Center and front office areas.
