A very hearty shout-out to the always excellent Kennedy marching band and color guard! A big win occurred in Stockton over the Thanksgiving holiday as the band took first place in the division, color guard placed first overall, woodwinds second, and brass third. Wow!
Way to go, Mr. Hammond, young musicians, and families! Check out our Facebook page for a great pic. of the marching band in Stockton!
Site Council Election Result
Many thanks (and congrats.) to Ms. Lois Van Beers for her willingness to take part on Site Council. A second thanks to all of you who took time to vote. Ms. Van Beers will join Ms. (Sierra) Campbell and Ms. (Paula) Mishima.
As many of you know, Site Council is an important advisory board that is essential in helping to determine how the school allocates categorical dollars. I thank everybody who participated in the process.
From now until December 23, the school is accepting new and gently used unwrapped toys. Part of an annual Kennedy tradition, donations are accepted in the Counseling Center and front office (lobby).
On Friday the 23rd, toys will be donated to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children for distribution on Christmas morning to children who are currently hospitalized.
Next week, December 5-9, is a spirit week. Encourage your student to dress up to show their school spirit. The dress-up themes are available here.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up
A friendly reminder to please exercise caution when picking up, dropping off, and/or visiting the school. In recent weeks, a number of concerns have been received with regard to driving behavior and safety.
A word of caution: an illegal U-turn on Gloria Drive (in front of the school) can result in a ticket costing upward of $375. Don’t make that mistake!
