Today (Every Fifteen Minutes)

Today is Monday, April 3rd, and the time is approximately 9:00 a.m.

As part of an awareness program about the trauma associated with drinking and driving, in a few moments, juniors and seniors will be directed to a simulated DUI automobile accident at the back of the school.  While the program participants are treating the scene as if it were real, nobody has been injured at John F. Kennedy.

Most students put the pieces together very quickly and realize that this is a simulation. However, there are some students who may not recognize the simulation right away and may become upset. Our counseling staff will be on site in addition to the Sacramento law enforcement chaplains who have experience working in potentially traumatizing situations. If your student should contact you in distress, please let them know that everything is okay.

We encourage parents to talk with their students about the importance of making responsible decisions. If you have any questions, please contact us at (916) 395-5090.
