  • French Club is selling croissants TOMORROW during Food Fair for 2-3 tickets! We have Almond, Chocolate, Butter, Strawberry, and Ham & Cheese! Don’t forget to check it out!
  • Dogs will be here tomorrow after school! Come out and pet the dogs and relax before finals! Arf arf!
  • Attention all seniors who graduated from Matsuyama, our elementary reunion picture will be at Matsuyama on January 23rd on Monday at 2:00. Don’t forget to come by and show what it really means to be a Mighty Pine.
  • Attention Interact members.  There is a meeting today at lunch in room C-217.  See you all there!
     
  • Valentine’s Day grams being sold by SPD Magnet Academy every day during lunch and after school in front of the Auditorium.  We will sell after school during finals week.  Starting January 19, 2017 until February 9, 2017.  The Grams will be delivered on Tuesday Feb 14 during either your 3rd or 4th period.  Come by and buy a V-Day gram for your loved one, friend, or yourself.

  • You’ve heard of Flash Mob, Flash Point, Flash Drive. Now there’s Flash Library. Beginning Wednesday of next week Mr. Campos will be carting a “Micro Library” in the hallways and byways of the school to enable students to borrow books between periods–in a flash! Look for it. Locations will vary and it will be available only on Wednesdays.
  • If you went to Pony Express Elementary School, come out to take the elementary school senior ad photo Monday January 23rd at 3:30! The picture will be taken at 4. Please bring $15-20!!! Go Panthers!
  • Friday will be our 2nd food fair of the year! Please bring your money and support our campus clubs!
  • Juniors! Today is the last day for Early Bird prices for junior prom! Come buy your tickets at lunch and after school and save some money!
  • Seniors that purchased senior yearbook ads must turn the ads in to Room F2 no later than Friday, January 27th. If you would like purchase a senior tribute, buddy, or elementary school ad, see Mrs. Hanzlik, but hurry, time is running out.  
  • Yearbooks are currently on sale during lunch on Fridays in Room F2.  The price is $75. until the end of the semester.  The last day to purchase a nameplate for your yearbook is Friday, January 20th.  Order your yearbook now, surplus books will not be ordered this year and prices will go up at the end of the semester.  Payment plans are available. 
  • Attention students! Winter Ball has changed to Winter Homecoming this year! The game will be the men’s basketball game on February 10th against Florin and the dance will be February 11th at Elks Lodge. Prices are $5 w/ ASB, $10 without, and $15 for a guest pass! Tickets on sale now!
  • Are you passionate about issues surrounding women in modern society but have no idea what to do about it? Well join Girls United Club! We meet every Monday during lunch in Mrs. Fugina’s classroom, Room B28. All are welcome so come to our next meeting to learn how you can start helping women now.
  • The Men’s Leadership Academy meets today after school at 3:15 in Room E3. All young men who are interested in life coaching, mentoring and tutoring are encouraged to join. Please stop by Assets to sign up with Ms. Cooper.
  • The Rainbow Coalition will be having meetings on Wednesdays.  Please come out and get to know each other through games and talking about LGBTQ issues.  We will meet on Wednesdays at lunch in room D4
  • SOFTBALL PLAYERS: If you are a freshman or a sophomore & missed Softball sign-ups, Please see coach Spatafore in room C218 as soon as possible. Tryouts start February 6th and your paperwork needs to be in by January 27th. See coach Spatafore to get your paperwork.
  • Men’s Volleyball Tryouts will be February 6th and 8th from 6pm-8pm in the Aux gym.
  • The Track and Field Team will hold signups and pre season conditioning today at 3:30 in the stadium. In case of rain meet in  front of the cafeteria. All students interested in joining our Metro League Champion Track and Field Team in the spring are asked to stop by and sign up and prepare for a great season!
  • Rugby practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 pm in the stadium. Come check it out!
  • Yesterday, your women’s JV soccer team defeated Laguna Creek 3-1 and the men’s JV soccer team won 7-0. Due to the weather conditions, both Varsity teams did not play and their games will be rescheduled.
  • Tomorrow, the women’s Varsity soccer team has an away match against Hiram Johnson starting at 3. The men’s soccer teams will also have home matches against Johnson; JV plays at 4:30, Varsity starts at 6:30.
  • Yesterday both your men’s JV and Varsity basketball teams defeated Laguna Creek, and both women’s basketball games didn’t play against Laguna Creek, and their games will be rescheduled.
  • Tomorrow your men’s Freshman basketball team has a home match against Jesuit at 4, and Varsity has a home match against Hiram Johnson at 6. Women’s Varsity basketball also has an away match against Hiram Johnson at 6. Both JV teams do not have games tomorrow.
