  • Hello all Pokémon fans, there is a Pokémon Club meeting tomorrow, Friday, during lunch in Room C-217. Join us as we celebrate our first meeting of 2017. All are welcome. See you all there, trainers!
  • Seniors:  Seniors that purchased senior yearbook ads must turn the ads in to Room F2 no later than Friday, January 27th. If you would like purchase a senior tribute, buddy, or elementary school ad, see Mrs. Hanzlik, but hurry, time is running out.  
  • Yearbooks are currently on sale during lunch on Fridays in Room F2.  The price is $75. until the end of the semester.  The last day to purchase a nameplate for your yearbook is Friday, January 20th.  Order your yearbook now, surplus books will not be ordered this year and prices will go up at the end of the semester.  Payment plans are available. 
  • SOFTBALL PLAYERS: If you are a freshman or a sophomore & missed Softball sign-ups, Please see coach Spatafore in room C218 as soon as possible. Tryouts start February 6th and your paperwork needs to be in by January 27th. See coach Spatafore to get your paperwork.
  • To the class of 2017, if you attended Leonardo da Vinci Elementary school, please meet in front of LdV on TODAY, January 12 at 245 to take a picture for the JFK yearbook. 
  • All Cougars! Rugby practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 pm at the stadium. It is not too late to come out.
  • Juniors! Next week (January 17-19) will be the time to purchase your EARLY BIRD tickets for Junior Prom! Please check the flyers and posters around campus for prices! We will be open in Casey’s Corner Tuesday-Thursday at lunch AND after school!
  • Attention students! Winter Ball has changed to Winter Homecoming this year! The game will be the men’s basketball game on February 10th against Florin and the dance will be February 11th at Elks Lodge. Prices are $5 w/ ASB, $10 without, and $15 for a guest pass! Tickets on sale now!
  • Dog Lover’s Club is having a meeting next week on Wednesday the 18th. Also, dogs will be coming to school next Friday, the 20th.. Come see them and release your stress before finals! Woof!
  • Attention Interact members.  There will be an Interact meeting today at lunch in room C-217.  See you all there!
  • Hey Cougars! Winter Homecoming is coming up on February 11th, and royalty nominations will begin next week. Come nominate your friends at Casey’s Corner during lunch next week Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (17th-19th)! 
  • There is an Animal Student Allegiance meeting at lunch today in Room C316, see you there. 
  • The Track and Field Team will hold signups and pre season conditioning today at 3:30 in the stadium. In case of rain meet in  front of the cafeteria. All students interested in joining our Metro League Champion Track and Field Team in the spring are asked to stop by and sign up and prepare for a great season!
  • Are you thinking about careers after high school? How about becoming an Electrician? Come learn about a career as an Electrician on Wednesday January 18th during lunch in room B15. This Career Conversation is the first in a series of Career Conversations provided by the Counseling Office. To sign up please go to the Counseling Office before school, during lunch or after school, To request a specific career presentation, please email Ms. Cespedes.
  • You saw us at the rally, come join us in dance class! V.I.Project Move is welcoming new members ready to dance! Check out our workshops on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays right afterschool in room D1!
  • Do you have used clothes or books that you have no use for anymore? Donate them to We For She’s drive to help benefit victims of the sex trade, sexual assault, and domestic abuse through the organization WEAVE. Main boxes are located in the main office and counseling office, and you can donate now through January 13th.
  • Yesterday, all four of our winter sports defeated their opponents: Valley High School. All five men’s and women’s basketball teams won; JV men’s soccer won 4-2; Varsity men’s soccer tied 0-0; JV women’s soccer won 5-0; and last but not least Varsity women’s soccer won 5-0.
  • Tomorrow, prepare yourselves for one rivalry-packed night. All men’s and women’s basketball and soccer teams will be facing off against our school’s biggest rivals, CK McClatchy. Women’s basketball will be playing away at CKM; JV at 5 and Varsity at 7. Men’s basketball will be playing here, at home, with Freshman at 4, JV at 5, and Varsity at 7.
  • GSM will be having a meeting at lunch tomorrow in V1 to prepare for the CKM games and hand out spirit gear.
  • Also here out on our soccer field the Varsity women’s soccer team will be playing at 3:00, with the JV women’s team playing after them at 4:30, followed by the JV men’s team at 6, and lastly the Varsity men’s team at 7:30. Be sure to come out and support all of our incredible winter sports teams and cheer them on to beat CKM!!
